Very good point now I definitely see the advantage.  I may have to try that.  Any Ideas for slip bobbers?

slip bobbers,  coffe stirrers (like the very thin straw ones) and thread it through a piece of wine cork, make it however big you want.

Heres an Idea I came up with for a spring boober it is sensitive enough to bend with the lightest of jigs under 1/100 oz. I made this this past weekend. I was looking for a good material to make them out of and found the flor pink plastic at a local store and have plenty for thousands of them. Made the eye out of aluminum tube and flaired both end then rolled it over to make the eye the added spring from Bic lighter. (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/A1ColdFeet/DSCF0149.jpg)

Sounds like alot of work to me

In all reality I can make this spingboober setup In under 3 min. I made a small jig to do the flare and final fold. The fun thing for me  is  to think up new ideas then see if I can build it. Always trieing to build the better "mouse Trap" so to speak. Also the light weight of Aluminum makes the tip top just that much sensitve to seeing the Riseing bites and so much cheaper to build than useing a 3.00 Nitride tip top.

Don't get me wrong, It looks great and I'm sure it works just as well if not better then "purchased" spring bobbers.  In fact, wouldn't mind trying one.  I just don't think that I (with my limited skills/talents and patience) could make one to look and work as well as yours does.

What do you mean about using a guitar string that's not coiled???
