I filled a 5 gallon and a 3 gallon bucket with 7-8 inch perch took me two and a half hours to fillet them last night but it will be worth it when i'm eating them ;D  ;D
up till about 10:30 they were coming up 4 feet while my jig was heading down
I got 6 that were between 10 and 11 inches but they were just skinny males

Ive caught some pike this year but I just can't get into a school of perch.  Sounds like a ton of them out there.  I wanted to go but everyone else didn't want to be around a bunch of people.

We had almost 150 people come out.  Not bad for a first tournament of its type.  The poker hand was worth $275 (5 high straight) as was the big Kokanee(.83).  $367 was split up for the top 3 perch.  We raised about 250 pounds of food for the Westshore Food bank and about 60 pounds of unwanted perch went to a lady who is recovering/healing 5 bald and 2 golden eagles.  All in all a successful tournament by all counts.

The Kokanee fishing was the hottest after about 2:30 PM until dark, on the west end of the big hump. But you didn't hear that from me ;)
If I\'m not fishing, I\'m probably thinking about fishing...And if I\'m thinking about fishing, I\'m probably not getting much else done so, I might as well go fishing...Yeah, I just said that!

took the little guy back out last night but he was having an off night complaining the whole time we were there so we were gone by 9:00 and then he put his hole leg in the hole.
We didn't have any luck partially because of him throwing fits but the guy next to us had quite a few on the ice

4 of us were out there last nite, caught a few perch  before 830 then every thing died off, then about 11 there was a short flurry of salmoon then dry spell till closing time. but what a beautiful night on the ice, mild temps no wind or fog. were hitting only  on green.

Using the biggest sweedish pimple i can get with glow strip on one side and a pink and glo rat finkie(about a half inch long) 6 inches below that tipped with 2 maggots white or red and one peice of corn(soaked in red anise oil)

Heading out this weekend for some daytime action...Hopefully we can lay into the perch and pick up a salmon here and there.  Anyone been out in the last couple days to give an ice report.  It's been so warm here in Polson, makes me wonder about ice conditions.  I'll post how we do when I get back sunday.
