My guess is that person was not an ice fisherman.  We ain't that dumb.  It's obviously been too warm this season for safe ice.

Spoke to two Environmental Police Officers yesterday afternoon as I was I fishing at a nearby lake to Greenbriar.  They said tow gentleman broke through the ice at greenbriar.  Not 3.  Either way I never thought Greenbriar was going to be safe this year.  They lowered the water level to work on the dam and there's no tree cover from direct sunshine.  Thus the ice will melt faster.

Stay safe

Seems like DCL ice might have survived not only a warm rain last week, but also may get through this wintry mix onslaught. Anyone know of how the North end of the lake ice conditions currently?

I fished DLC Sunday and found good 4-5” ice wherever I was. Across the lake it looked like several folks were set up off the state park

Found near a foot of hard ice on the Deep Creek Lake coves & 6 - 7" on main lake. Shoreline was solid except springs. Next weekend should be fine. Bluegill 11.5"
