I’m starting to get the itch
« on: Oct 28, 2018, 04:15 PM »
Well I checked the forecast for mchenry and it looks like some lows below freezing so of course I’m thinking about first ice. I had a great year last year and I’m hoping for another one this year. I just hope these temps stay low to keep dropping that water temperature. Anyone else itching to get back on the ice?

Better luck with the weather this winter is my Christmas wish.  I got out three times on Greenbriar last year on scary ice...

You got something that itches? I think there's medication for that...  :roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao:
To fish or not to fish? That's a stupid question!

Can’t......wait.....

My wallet can’t wait til first ice either. I’ve surpassed the “buy what is needed” phase and moved into the “hey that looks cool, I *might* be able to use that.....once...maybe” phase of purchasing lol

Yes looking forward to another slice season. Hopefully we don’t get crazy warm spells in the middle of winter this year.

Little warm spell this coming weekend but the previous cold temps and the long range forecast is sure setting the stage. Can’t wait!

I've been looking at the web cams at Deep Creek today and am seeing ice forming in the bays  :icefish: . Praying for continued cold weather.

That itch has become a full blown rash. Going to be close for next Saturday! Let me know if anyone gets to check ice thickness

Here's the Accuweather forecast for the 1,000 Acres golf course. https://www.wunderground.com/forecast/us/md/swanton/21561. It's been below freezing the past 5 days!

Plan to head up next Saturday & check out southern coves & northern tip of Mchenry

I saw ducks swimming in the open leads at McHenry this morning on the deepcreekvacations.com
webcam  :( .      Hope this snow doesn't slow down the lake freezing too much. Be nice to go out safely this coming weekend ;D

From what I see on the web cam at McHenry  this evening about 6pm, two people were really pushing their luck at the upper end of the bay :o. Hope that they don't go through the ice.  Farther down the bay, it  looks like there is still some open water showing with several ducks sitting around.

No kiddin! I had to go to Lowe’s today so detoured and measured a few places and never found anything over 3” in the southern coves. Mchenry I didn’t even get out of the truck, it looked sketchy at best

I also saw the lake yesterday with plenty of open water and waterfowl.  Considering the forecast next couple of days, it looks like good ice will be hard to find.  However next weeks forecast is showing some good cold.
