Sled racks
« on: Aug 20, 2009, 10:52 PM »
I posted this on the Michigan page back in april and thought some of you might want some more ideas- Kevin

The pad on the seat is actually the backrest..the seat is 4" thick high density foam covered the same as the back rest. I added another loop above the rack to mount the backrest. The entire rack is made of 3/4" conduit with exception of the hitch bracket witch is 3/16" angle.

what type of trailer do you pull with that hitch?  can the sled actually handle the weight of the load and a trailer behind?

looks awesome
eagles may fly....but weasles don't get sucked into jet engines

Fishwiz, I used it with the sled pictured. It pulled it like it was it wasn't even there. the track is studded with hex head screws and did just fine on slick ice..I'm not sure how much weight it can pull maybe I'll find out this season.- Kevin

Did you make it yourself or did you order it from someone.  I have an Artic Cat made in the late 80's.  Runs great and looks like the same seat type as yours.  Any info you could give me on that I would appreciate it.  Thanks

I know I put this on my sled thread but I thought I would post it here too!

Started working on the rack today! I had a rack I made for a four wheeler that was laying around so I cut out a section the size I needed.

Got the rack all mocked up! The rubbermade box can hold two 5gallon buckets with the lid off.

In case your wondering what the bar is, it's a propane cylinder rack. A simple bungy cord around the tank and it doesn't move.

My auger is in the shop getting a tune-up. When I get it back I'll start on it's rack.
