swimbaits
« on: Jan 25, 2012, 11:00 AM »
Anyone use swimbaits to jig with?  I was in the sport store last week to pick up some spoons when these caught my eye.  They were cheap enough to get and try and if I myself thought they were delicious looking I thought the fish might too.  Any thoughts or experience?

Haven't used many myself, but have read some reports like this one that swimbaits work for lakers and whitefish.   Not quite like the one you posted though.  More like paddletail minnows.

I'll probably try some this year if the ice ever comes.......

I have had luck on swimbaits for pike and burbot.
The main ones I use in the winter are Storm Wildeye swimbaits, and wildeye live.
I like the 4" and 6" sized lures.
