I decided i'd hit up my favorite new smallie honey hole one last time this year. I ended up with 9 bass total. One hole I caught 7 fish out of, including one that was marked with my flasher and I managed to jig it up. That was a good fight.

with action like that you should ditch the traps and jig, jig, jig. you have a flasher so you have all the tools you need. I bet you could have caught twice as many. 8)

I actually did quite a bit of jigging but only managed to hook up twice, landing one fish. I drilled about 5 different holes other than my traps and I didnt mark any fish.

when jigging for smallies i drill like 20 extra holes and jig every one for a short period then drill 20 more in the area of the best ones from the first set.I keep doing this untill i find a hot hole.

mg39 will vouch for the amount of effort i put into drilling holes.
I don't like to wait for the fish to find me so i go look for them. ;D
check out the holes in the back ground. there were just as many in the other 3 directions. we fine tuned our location until we found a hot hole and got close to 20 bass from 1 hole.

Makes sense as smallies are home bodies in the winter. I got 7 of 9 fish today from one hole and at one point the flasher was lit up like a christmas tree! It was pretty cool to see.

You got that right. In 3-4 weeks i'll be slaying them from shore at night. I cannot wait.
