We Got Lakers
« on: Dec 23, 2010, 08:17 PM »
The categories were posted today for the IS Tourney. Looks like Lakers, Burbot and Brookies for us in Western Wyoming. What will be your main target fish this season? Laker's for me, might have to try for some brookies too.

If you catch a sunfish that qualifies then you also have a new state record.  19" brookie is a toughy.  Only saw one that big come through the ice last year.  Laker is certainly doable as is the burbot and eye.

Good luck everyone and if you get one that qualifies be sure to let all of us know.

Brook trout will be the category I am going for this year, also nice to see perch on there too. I don't think WYO has much chance at that category but at least I know I can get an entry.

Looks like it'll be lakers for me too. I might happen to stumble upon a qualifying burbot one of the times I go out too. A 40" laker is gonna be quite a task for this rookie....same as a 33" ling but who knows. Sucks rainbows aren't one of the categories.

ya he does. When I see him writing down a fish's length as 21 3/16" from looking at a picture....especially when the person says 21 1/4" LOL

Might do for guys who ever got DQ'd to post a short note why (without beating up the Tourney Mod of course), I have learned this in my years of being here, the decision of the judge is final  :woot: :icefish:

Be sure and get as close and directly above the fish as you can. Measurements are from the upper lip, if the mouth is open. Don't lay any part of the fish on top of the tape. Get out of the shanty for pic's.
