Fremont
« on: Jan 08, 2007, 08:16 PM »
Broke away and fished Fremont today.  The wind was blowing and it was bothersome but the temp was around 32 which was not bad.  Only fished 1-1 1/2 hours and caught one laker.  It's too bad he was only about 5" :'( but was a fish. ;D  Going to try Half Moon tomorrow.  Anyone been to any of the lakes around here lately, any luck?

We fished Newfork, Halfmoon, and Boulder, last weekend. The fishing was great, the catching was slow, except on halfmoon. BD, and Lipripper caught quite a few. How thick is the ice on Fremont?

I fished the East Bar on Jan 2, about 6" of clear ice.  In 1.5 hours (10-11:30) I landed 8 and lost at least twice as many, 16-22".  I had many simultaneous hookups on my dead stick with a sculpin, had to decide which fish to reel in.  This was the most action I have ever had on Fremont!!!  It was so hot I came back out at dusk--dead.

Fished it again last weekend in the cold and snow--0--nada.  Oh well, at least I can say I have had ONE good day on Fremont.

It was hard to tell if snow machines had been on the lake, it was slushy on top and the wind had blown pretty hard and moved the snow around so much it covered most all tracks both foot and sled.
