Has anybody ever used this new tape that attaches your reel to a jigging rod and if so is it worth the 6 or 7 bucks? thanks :-\

It's pretty decent stuff.  My buddy used to use it before switching to cold snap reel tape.  It only sticks to its self, doesn't peel the cork and it does stick really well.

Look at Rescue Tape.  Same stuff but you get more and you can get different colors.

Silicone tape performs far better than electrical tape. No sticky handles w/ the self fusing tape. W-mart carries some for 'bout $3...

I recently purchased a frabil straighline combo, it came with the reel taped with the Frabill tape, it was already loosening, I took it off and went with my go-to hockey tape. Frabil tape is not worth the cash in my opinion

I have a roll, works great if you know how to use it.

There are 3 ways to go without tape of any sort. 1 is to use O-rings, 2 is to use livestock castration bands priced in my home town for $1.99 for 100 bands or 3 use Cold Snap Reel Wraps that are like $4.00 for 16 and you get a special little funnel type thing to roll the bands onto the rod. Do the math. If I do any more, I've already got my self a bag of bands.

I'm sure the 'boys are thankful for every band on your rod....  :woot:
