Fishguts, deep towards the dam..I do not believe the public ramp is open..as someone stated, they have the entrance locked with a cable and it is possible at the private marinas but not sure of them being open this time of year.  I am hoping to ice fish somewhere  tomorrow. .. waiting for my friend to get back to me. I'll be jigging somewhere later today and all day tomorrow and possibly friday too. be safe on that 2 to 4 inch ice ::) iknow where i want to go is over 8 inches

Yeah I'm gonna wait a while for swinging bridge. Like Snowden said there are
plenty of good places with 8 inches of ice.
I'm gonna try to get out and fish the next few days straight.
Gonna hit a few private lakes in NEPA before the weather gets ugly then go local for the weekend.
Got 250 waxies
Can't wait!!!

5" on Glenmere Lake straight out from the park.... If you plan on going out to the right of the park check the ice thickness as you go as it was open water a few days ago

6-8" on a small pond in Ulster Co. today. Jigged up 5 bluegills before dark on wax worms fishing from 4-5:30pm. Going to head out tomorrow, maybe to Chodikee Lake.

Happy New year guys,

I am thinking of getting out somewhere Saturday AM.  I usually fish lakes around NJ but my inlaws live a few minutes from Congers Lake and may visit them this weekend - is this lake worth fishing through the ice?  I have tried it a few times in May and got a few decent bass and a bunch of yellow bullhead at night.

Thanks,
Chris

Is the ice thick enough for fishing yet in Dutchess/Putnam/Westchester NY ?  I'm assuming that some of the smaller lakes are ready i.e. White Pond in Putnam.  I don't think Sylvan Lake in Beekman or the Reservoirs are ready yet .  Please let me know if any lakes have enough ice to fish.   Thanks jiceman

Just drove past Sylvan Lake, completely covered in ice which doesn't happen all the time.  Didn't have anything with me to check the thickness, but no signs that anyone had been out on it.

Will try park tomorrow. :)

Where are you going - I need some crappie lessons. :)
I got three pretty decent ones on Glenmere last year, but
I wasn't fishing for them.
Of course - I mean PM me. :)
