Has anyone have any info on the fishing? Good or Bad. How thick is the ice?

About a week ago, I heard the ice was 9 inches or so. I'm going to the derby this weekend.

Me too. Just started ice fishing recently and had never been to Saratoga. Just wondering.

Fishing is usually so so with the average fish running 12-14 inches (I don't have any current fishing conditions)

Gonna be a nice weekend up there for a tourney!  Anybody carry radios for communication in Saratoga?  If so, what channel?  Hope to see & meet some others out there & maybe share a beer!

Saratoga Sucked! Didn't get a bite all weekend, but it's not all the lakes' fault, there were over 500 adults registered and quite a few kids on the ice. Hopefully someone had some luck.

we took home 300 but the fishing was unusual lots of small ones and lots of 17-18 inch fish won hourlys cought about 20 total with the avrage running 14-16 inches

I won 100 bucks on an 18" rainbow for the last hour Sunday, I caught 9 total, registrered 5 of those fish- lost 2 at the hole- it was an OK weekend for me :)

Sure looked like a mancamp out there, that's for sure.  NOTHING the first day here either.  Moved to a different spot on Sunday & got over a few.  Saw quite a few & a few with some SIZE to them.  They were light on the bite & the only one I hooked into broke the line!  Not happy!  Nice pics WYOICER.

Thats a shame when you have one break your line - especially during a money event!!! I oveheard the guy who won the overall big fish had one bigger break his line!

I went to the Derby also and did not get a single bite all weekend. I was fishing with my uncle and a friend from South Dakota and it was our first time fishing there at Saratoga. I was just wondering where people were catching the fish at during the Derby?
