smallies through the ice?
« on: Dec 25, 2012, 04:53 PM »
Does anyone target smb through the ice? Specifically at Fontenelle or The Gorge?
just wanted to know how deep do they get in the winter?  Think it would be nice to pull some through the ice?

I know one guy that seems to catch ONE every year by accident. Tough to target on the gorge.

I've never targeted them at the Gorge but have around the east side of the state. I would think rock piles 20 to 30' would be key and crawdad looking baits. Most of the time we use rattle spoons and raps tipped with a salted minnow head for smell. If you could figure it out would be a blast!

Are there small mouth bass in Fontanelle?  I've never been given a solid answer  ether way. If they are in there it would be a blast to chase them.
