Went in from Duck Creek , stayed north of the pressure ridge. Saw the atv pulling the ice house , saw them cross the pressure ridge. Ice was 13 inches where I drilled. Perch in 48 fow, iced a few but seemed really finicky.

pressure ridge scares the crap out of me every year. Glad to hear you are safe and able to drink a beer. That's a  of a scary situation to be in. Hope every read your warning and stayed safe. I got one of these just because of the pressure ridges. It floats so atleast gives me some time to assess the situation if a oh moment comes up.

Duck mobile! That thing is awesome!

ATV basics on the ice....
1) NEVER cross pressure ridges
2) NEVER run the shore lines or cross long points too shallow
3) NEVER cross shallow water between islands
4) AVOID open water
5) Watch for methane pockets
6) Send your buddy on his machine in the lead  ;D

I'm headed up in the morning and taking my wheeler for the first time (normally fish for Trout shallow by the dikes), and would like to try for Perch.  I've never ridden to the HTW area.  Do you have to cross the pressure ridge to get there from the Silos?  I'm hoping to get there early and follow some fellow fisherman out to the grounds for a safe route.  Any info would be appreciated!!
