This is so sad, There seems to be soft spots on all these lakes, no way to tell with out drilling,
I found a spot on Georgetown lake a couple weeks ago that was 8" moved over 10' and found it to be
14",     Prayers to the Family.

A guy that I work with was out there Satuday and saw several vehicles trying to cross the pressure ridge. Sad, but it needs to be a reminder to all of us.

UPDATE:

HELENA - Broadwater County officials say divers have recovered the body of a 51-year-old Townsend man whose vehicle went through the ice on Canyon Ferry Lake over the weekend.

Undersheriff Wynn Meehan says the body of Gregory Elliott was recovered from about 25 feet of water shortly after 9 a.m. Wednesday.

He says the sheriff along with Elliott's family and friends used a depth finder Monday and Tuesday to look for objects that were shallower than the bottom of the lake. Meehan says they used a camera to find Elliott's body on Tuesday.

Another man and a 12-year-old boy who were in the truck with Elliott when it broke through the ice Saturday afternoon were rescued. Two other men were able to escape a second truck that went down, but a dog drowned.

Other than a miracle that is the best result. Lacking closure when losing a loved one is terrible.
