How long do you let your ice auger warm up?

My Solo does. I let it warm up till the exaust is good and warm. I have seen what the piuston looks like on an auger that never got warmed up before drilling. Still ran, but it was scored to heck.

Yeah i own a motorcycyle shop and i see alot of 2 stroke dirtbikes come in in the fall time that have been cold seized to lean of jetting for the weatherkinda thing sorry to get off topic... But yeah i have seen the same thing .... It can happen to a auger to, maybe not as easy but i still prefer to let it build up some heat and let things expand at the same rate

Ilet my strike master warm up about two minutes or it won't even stay running

I know that you want to start drilling right away . BUT it said in the directions of my Strike Master to let it warm up for 2 minutes,and if you do . It will run just fine. I have found that you only have to do this when you first get there. The rest of the day it works fine.   Jerry

I normally let it warm up for a minute. Usually when the exhaust disappears. My Eskimo runs great even cold. No cold running issues at all.
