Let's get some cold temps.
« on: Nov 29, 2020, 03:12 PM »
Man just wanting some fishable ice on the ponds for gills. This warm open water sucks......it sucks....I've been making a ton of plastics and small lead heads for panfishing.

What's everyone else up to.

Northland Impulse Mayfly in brown was probably my best performing plastic in iowa.

Other than that i haven't been loyal to any specific color or style. Red does best for me on crappie.

Same here, trying to be patient as we wait. Got a chance this weekend after finishing putting up Christmas decorations to go fish for a short time. Caught some small crappies and bluegill using an ice jig & gulp minnow under a bobber. Wasn’t much but was still fun.

Christmas lights kinda kicked my but this year. The colored led lights i bought years ago finally died and so did the pooping Santa blow up.....so we got new lights and an abominable snow man blow up. Wife looked at me funny when we put them up at dark.....but it's done and looks nice. Lol.

Some of the best fishing is now. Walleyes have been great, perch and crappies before this walleye time. One can always drive for hrs to ice fish for 3 walleyes up north, to each their own I guess.

He was in an out house and would open the door....plastic base got cracked out and the material had some holes worn through on it.

Surprised by this, the pond in our subdivision has a thin layer of ice formed over the majority of it. Just noticed this walking into the house. Live in Des Moines area.

Mine should have some skim ice today or tomorrow - I haven't been down there lately

The wind died down enough for my local waters to have skim ice all day. The only open spots were where the geese are hanging out. I’m trying to keep my hopes down since Mother Nature can be fickle

Just as everything around Grinnell iced over (skim), warm temps show up. At least the water is cold enough to freeze quickly when the temps drop, hopefully soon.
