Monona county is my old stomping grounds!!! Never fished Blue, during ice season, have in open water, nice bass. There are some great farm ponds around the county if you can gain access, usually all that takes is freindly talk and asking.

If your going to monona county I would recomend going to Peters Pits near Rodney, its a good sized gravel pit that the county took over, used to have great crappie fishing there.Good luck and have fun!!!!

The DNR shows a Johnson Pit and a Peters Park. I assume you mean Peters Park?

Newer to the area and wondering if anybody had fished much in this area lately? Thinking about trying Blue Lake or maybe Oldhams or over further East to Crawford Creek

Ice fished blue lake over 5 years ago, only caught a couple cat fish. There are descent blue gills in there and have seen some crappie and a northern pulled out of there during the summer. Have thought about trying it again, but haven’t got that far. Oldham is always good for bluegills and occasional crappie. Used to go to pits in Rodney and also a little further north to Southwood by Smithland and would find gills.
