That lake has been locked up and then open more times than I can count.. I've never seen that lake do what it has this year. Weird as hell..

coldwater...what county....I live on coldwater lake in Isabella...8 inches of good ice below 2 of soft ice.

Drove around north end this morning and completely froze over, mind you the small spots that were open a couple days ago are capped. Didnt check thickness but didnt see anyone out there.

Checked a channel nearby and the spud just dropped thru, 1/2" maybe. Too much wind, main channels with current and out of the wind are skimmed and the ones that are usually froze with wind are NOT safe!

thanks Gills-only for the info, went there tip-up weekend and only caught 35 over two days and my son caught 27 of the 35! but i drilled close to 30 holes for him Lol!
