« on: Nov 16, 2006, 11:49 AM »
Ice fishing on canadarago lake this season looks very promising we have been catching nice perch 13"-14" trolling in the boat. last year we had an incredable hatch of perch an fishing sucked but now all that food made allot of nice fish for this season. bring on the ice!

Are you guys still fishing the lake now?  I might have to hook up the boat and give that lake a try one of these days ::)
yes we were since we had this crazy warm weather but it looks like it might be over but 20-23 feet with blue&silver rapalas are the ticket!

Are you the one of the guys that brings his beagle out in the boat there and keeps it in a cage while you're fishing?
Robb and I were fishing on Otsego lake Labor Day wknd and there was a couple of guys in an older bass boat with a crated pooch on board, wonder if if its the same dudes?

Yeah that's the guys.  Really nice fellers if you get a chance to talk to them.  They said they crate him because he has jumped out of the boat a couple times :o
I would hate like hell to see that crate get knocked over board!!That poor pooch  would'nt stand a chance.Maybe they had it anchored down ,I could'nt tell but I thought it was awful close to the side of the boat, and when they took off into the chop I cringed...hang on buddy!! :-\

I heard that lake sucks, but I'll have to try it on the ice to see for myself. If it ever gets cold.
Last year I was on Mayfield lake on Nov. 28th, and last year sucked!!

The amount of really small perch in Canadarago last year was amazing.  You could catch well over 100 but many of them 3" long.  Hopefully they've grown since last year.  There are some fearking HUGE perch in there at times.........I mean this place SUCKS  ::)

Honestly they didn't seem like idiots and I don't think it's illegal to have a dog in a cage on your boat, I think the dog's happier fishing with the boys than sitting at home alone but I think you just would have to bring him to shore for some quick walks every now and then :)
They weren't doing anything wrong, and the dog seemed perfectly happy to be out in the boat,in fact he didn't make a peep.
