I checked a few spots today. I've never seen 8 inches of ice go that fast. Open water everywhere-SUCKS!! :%$#!:

Fished a small pond in smithfield today. Bass  and Picks  5" in some spots 2-3" in others. Definitely had to watch my step.

I'm heading out to Stillwater in about an hour or so for a couple hours.

I will provide a report whether it's safe or not. Big thanks to JimC on the tip.

I've been out on Stillwater for about an hour. Consistent 3-4" of good, hard ice.

No flags yet and barely any wind. The ice has been talking a little, but not close to me.

I tried everything. Off the bottom, right below the ice and chumming.

The ice starts right after the power lines. I checked a few spots where the was water. I jumped on it, a few cracks but never broke through. You'll probably the see the huge piece of ice I chipped out so I could put some clean water in my bait bucket.

The Yak Traks made their money out there today.
