I ordered some Slabgrabbers online. Two days later, I got a call from Sue McGathy apologizing for a delay in shipping my spoons. The spoons I ordered are handmade in their shop and the manufacturing crew were on a fly-in fishing trip in Canada.
Where else can you find
- a family business where you talk to a family member
- lures made in the USA
- the whole production crew takes a few days off to go FISHING.
How cool is that ?

OBTW: THe slabgrabbers are re-supply of my ice-fishing lures.

That's awesome!
Michigan takes a lot of pride in the products we make! McGathy's is no exception!
The real surprise for me here is that our secret local perch weapon is being sought after by NY!

I am actually surprised, I thought beaded spoons was a LSC thing only... Are you from MI. originally?

they are the only beaded spoons i own. i don't use them for the waters i fish tho, but have them for when fish won't take what i normally bait them with.
it's nice to support them.

I've got some beaded spoons....Smacking Jacks I think....tried them local didn't work. I think they work in the big lakes where lake trout lay eggs and the perch eat them....

Nope, from VT . Read about them on Ice Shanty and tried them out. Local perch love 'em, along with some big bass and northerns. That's why I need to re-supply.

Here is a great soruce for bead spoons on-line. I am lucky I live right down the street from them. Got to love bead spoons. They had a guy in that did a seminar a few years back on fishing them. I will try to find the video.
