reels for jigging lakers

can anyone recommend a good quality conventional reel for jigging lakers (I have plenty of spinning reels)

If your're talking baitcasting reels you can't go wrong with an Abu Garcia Ambassadeur.  I've said it before, I know I'm biased, but they are great reels.  They will outlast you.

Nothing wrong with a spin casting reel .
I use them winter and summer. largest laker I've taken is 21 lbs.

What I hate  about large bait casters ,they are top heavy not bottom heavy.
They want to spin around on me .
And i have to crank with my right hand and the left is the rod controller ,just the opposite of spin casting

If top heavy is something that concerns you have a rod built acid wrapped. No more side to side torque.
