Looks like there are only a few members who fish Rafferty in the winter or else they are a secretive bunch. I fish there in the summer when visiting my brother in law and have never had a bad day. I am sure some of the back bays are safe for walking. There used to be some good perch fishing within sight of the launch at the Regional. If I lived closer I would be checking it out.
Old fishermen never die, they just smell that way.

Hi, it is hard to find any information on Rafferty but I know there are a number of locals that fish it a lot year round.  I would certainly like to keep this thread going as it is too far from Regina just to go take a peek as there are few alternatives to fall back on enroute if it is not safe.  I will get out there but will wait to ensure ice is safe.

I hear the boat launch and Dead Lake areas have around 20" of ice. Not sure about the main body of the lake

I am heading down to the lake tomorrow for a half day. I will be fishing closer to the golf coarse at Main Prize. I will start at Langs crossing I think
If anyone has been fishing there this year any tips would be appreciated.

Tight Lines !

Fishing was not very good I caught one giant jack on the tip up but didn't even see marks around on the flasher for the most part. Beautiful weather and my kids had a great day so no complaints

OK this question is a little bit off topic but have to ask now while it is in my head.  Any hints as to how and where a guy may be able to catch the elusive bullhead.  Want desperately to scratch that one off my list. Will be in Estevan off and on over the summer.  :)

When I lived down there we used to catch them in the Souris river all the time. We were tossing Len Thompson spoons and caught mostly pike and bullheads. Pretty much anywhere you can get to the river you can catch bullheads. Not sure about the reservoirs.
A woman who has never seen her husband fishing, doesn't know what a patient man she married !

Its been so slow you might as well bring a blanket and pillow and catch up on sleep

seeing pike in water shallower than 18 feet walleye are out deeper and perch are out in 40fow

of the fellows i know only a fish or two are caught each day lots of days where you don't even see a fish and if you do they swim right by

we have been fishing the bays on North shore east of the Macoun RD all the way east to dam.
