How much ice was there on Wawasee?  Is there good ice at the public access site south of Griffiths Marina?

You can park at Oakwood park and walk across road to Chanel, just look for all the vehicles can’t miss it.

Buckbuster13, thanks for the information. I will look for the spot next time I am up in the area. Hopefully the ice will be good for a couple of more weeks.

Was on the slip yesterday afternoon , two other guys and myself. Left about 4:30, ice was about 16 ". The other guys had the same day as me, it sucked. Had fish on the screen all the time but they would't bite. Tried 6 different jig different depths to no avail.
Then got back to the truck to find out I had left my lights on and of course my battery was dead as a hammer. Knocked on a couple of doors and found a gentleman good enough to give me a jump. Many thanks to Mr. Twaits, he saved my day. Still got home in time to see most of the game.
Even with all that I was thankful to get out, at 78 I would hate to miss a year. Been doing this since I was 10 and hope to do it for another 10. Good luck to all and God bless.

Glad to see someone helped you out in your time of need.   My bite went the same way yesterday.  Tons of lookers and peckers but no biters.  At least we had a very good day on Sat.

Keep looking for that right color. My buddy caught a limit on a blue and pink jig while everyone else was just getting the lookers. My grandson got a crappie just shy of 16" on the same jig. I never would of believed it if I didn't see it. I caught 3 big gills first thing in the morning then they shut off. My buddy kept on catching.

That should keep the grandson interested in fishing with that nice of crappie.  I've been using a fog jig with a pink belly on it and was doing good on it for several weeks until a bass stole it.  That happened to be the only one I had in my hundreds of hooks.  Wouldn't you know it.  I have a buddy that always uses jigs with pink on them I make fun of him all the time still i started catching them with pink...

Was a great day to be on the ice,but the gill bite wasn’t great.I managed 12 decent gills and one 9 inch perch. The warm sun is definitely shrinking the ice thickness. The good thing is there’s plenty of quality ice to get us through this temporary warm spell

Been wondering how it's been going.  Buddy up there said they were walking a pier to get on.  Most lakes around me have had it.   Did some homework and got on one Fri. evening and it was slow.  Got on Sun and a different place and did good.  They were 2-5 ft under the ice all day.  Just waited til they swam by every 10-15 minutes.  What a nice day it was.

Edges are going quick but found a few lakes with pretty decent ice still. Lost a little today but hopefully next few days stiffens up some of the edges. Sticking to lakes I know we'll in late season

I was out yesterday evening. A couple runs on the tip-ups I missed, one small bass and a small pike. Ended up finding a school of gills an hour before dark. Nice being able to fish two minutes from my office.

I was out last night. Slick as snot. Monday it took thirty turns of the auger. Last night it took 18. Crystal clear, about 6" of ice. Really growling with the temp drop. Bite has been slow.

Hit the slip today managed 12 decent gills.I then went to south end and tried for perch out from launch only one which was barely a keeper.Did the hike out to the better flats for them and nothing.I’ll find them when the ice goes off and I won’t have a heart attack. That’s hell of a long walk even with out the snow

Walked out at lunch. Warm and sunny, slick as heck. Talked with a couple gentlemen. They did OK but slow. I'll try after work. The end is near for good ice with the forecast this week.

About six or seven inches tonight. I wouldn't put much faith in it after tomorrow s temps. I got a few gills tonight but threw back more than I kept. Might hang it up until ice out. My bride has been awful tolerant with deer season and ice fishing. Time to start finishing up a shower tile job.

I was going to walk out and try for a bit after work. Looked at my bait can and it was empty. Drove home. I heard it was pretty slow.
