Title: a goofy combo
Post by: river_scum on Jan 23, 2021, 05:38 AM
this is goofy but it works.  was taught this sandwich by an aunt as a child.

smear good amount of peanut butter on 1 slice white bread.  on the other slice of bread, spread a decent amount of mayo.  then in the middle gets slices of dill pickle.  yes that's what I meant to say. lol  sounds nasty to most people but the ones that try it like it.  you gota love dill pickles for this one.  fun to freak strangers out, on the ice, while eating it too. lmao

That one is pretty common for my lunch.....minus the mayo. I use dill pickle "chips", the thin round ones.  :P

You want goofy combo, one of my buddies in high school made these gross things continually:

White bread smeared with apple butter, then bologna slices...then mayo smeared on it...then a handful of potato chips piled on top and crushed....I kid you not!

My mother had a friend who often talked about her love for peanut butter and ketchup sandwiches.

Which, because of the vast amount of sugar in ketchup, ain't that much different from PB&J...

One of my favourites is peanut butter and onions, with lots of miracle whip, in a whole wheat bread sandwich.

Try it. Bet you can’t eat just one!

I was in a pizza shop waiting for my pie and heard two guys talking about peanut butter and onion sandwiches with mayo.  Man I grabbed my pizza, high tailed it home, ran into the kitchen and...
...
...
... ate the pizza and tried to forget what I'd heard...

I like an over easy fried egg with soft yolk, a left over smoked bacon/cheddar brat patty, and a slice of melted swiss on toasted white bread for bfast...beats the heck out of a Mickey D's egg McMuffin. The McReb!  :woot:

My dad would put a little bit of peanut butter on his pan fried walleye while it was frying.
It's not bad I still do it every once in while. It's funny because he would never eat PB any other time.

when I was at church camp as a kid saw a boy put peanut butter on his hamburger. Everyone thought he was weird and laughed at him. I quietly tried it and it wasn't all that bad.

Lots of burger places here put peanut butter on yer burger.....with an onion ring or bacon.
From one menu:

Peanut Butter Burger

Topped with creamy peanut butter and two
slices of our hickory smoked bacon.
$12.50

Sammiches... When I was but a lad my summer non-school days would be spent roaming the plains of far NW S. Dak. Lunch for the day was always the same: a mustard sandwich. Didn't like peanut butter much in those days and lunch meat, cheese, etc. was unheard of in our house. Brother had a ketchup sandwich. Always on white bread, sometimes homemade, peppered with dark, dirty dots of fingerprints from our grubby hands. Mmmmmm!

Peanut butter goes with a number of things: PB and bacon (no brainer) or bananas on toast for breakfast, PB and sliced radishes or bologna for lunch. And yes, DO take a handful of tater chips, crush 'em in your hands and put those on too. Either with just plain PB or in combination with the radishes or bologna.

All these cheap imitations of sandwiches PALE in comparison to the SUPREME ULTIMATE CHAMPION SANDWICH OF THE UNIVERSE.

The acme, the nadir, of sandwichism has long been determined.

Take two slices of the cheapest white bread you can find.  Place upon those two heavenly pillows two thick slabs of center cut Lebanon Baloney and a thick piece of 'Merican Cheese.  Slather the whole thing in store brand mayo.  Place the completed work of art into an empty bread bag.  Put it in the game bag on the back of your huntin' coat and carry it around all day.

About 4 o'clock, after makin' sure to crush the sandwich well by piling dead squirrels, pheasants or even ground hogs on top of the bread bag remove the sandwich from the bag, throw away the sandwich and eat the bag...

Now THAT'S eatin', Mmm, mmm, GOOD!!!

Well bread of choice (what's on hand)
Smothered in peanut butter then a slice of cheese. If u want high price dining you go for some good cheddar   otherwise its run of the mill american slices... bonus if you grill it, or my new found love butter both outsides and  air fry!

I've been eating Grilled Cheese sandwiches since I was a kid smothered in peanut butter after they are grilled, always got weird looks from everyone but love them to this day!
