Went out on Lake St Clair today and smashed the fish. There was about 15 guys in this area and almost everyone took a limit, including both of my uncles on one of their friends. I took a limit of gills, and my dad helped contribute the rest and we both did well with the perch. We kept 19 perch and 40 bluegills. I also lost a real nice bass too right at the hole, shook the hook loose.

bluegills were 7-8" mostly 8 and the perch varied from 7-10"

they were hitting like crazy out there. Everyone was catching them, I caught the gill on minnows, waxies, spikes, and even baitless, same goes with the perch

usually dont come by to many of them, but every once in a while we will run into a school. I guess a couple of guys about 200yrds from us found a few.

In have not seen that little ice since the end of October. another 4 months before we even think about being in a boat. Good pics !

in the summer I hit the rivers, Ive never icefished for them but want to this year. I want to get my first one through the ice. There arnt many oppurtunities around where I live for iceing trout

Way to go Pikemaster, your really popping the perch and bluegills.

In the January bluegill photo I see some are more purplish than others are those the males?

you know im not really sure. They were all pretty colorful. I know in the summer and spring, the big dark ones with orange bellies, are the males. While the females are the paler colors. Not sure how it goes in the winter. Sometimes all i pull are pale ones out in the winter, and then they get colors on top of the ice???

Did some icefishing this weekend with limited sucess. Caught a few bass, some gills, some perch, and some crappies from varying areas. The pike kicked my ass
