Biggest and best derby in the State this weekend
« on: Jan 22, 2024, 04:13 PM »
Who’s going? Conditions? Secret spots? 😁 We always look forward to our annual trip. Really is the best Derby. I heard the Sporting Club was opening for the weekend? Is that the weigh-in location? Is the restaurant going to be open?

Just got back, slush in a lot of spots not deep though, caught our limit of salmon every day and a 3.25 lb brookie 22",  long lake, very cold! And snowed ever day except today.
Bait goes on the hook... hook goes in the water...smelt is in the water...OUR SMELT!!!

Oh yeah, where’s that? I really like “ A Place to Eat” in Oakfield. And alway eat at the Lakeview the Friday before the Derby. Really sad that Bonanza closed in PI…

Gonna be there fishing March 6-7. Targeting Yellow Perch on Long and Cross!
I hope the darn salmonids don't become a nuisance!!!

nope. i fished cross on the 1st. only got 1 small stock salmon. lots of whites and skinny yellows. since whites showed up, they are outcompeting the yellows. caught 6 12-14'' whites on the jig. great fun. 30 fow. used to be alot of smelt in there. not anymore. got 1 all morning.

Yes all fresh hand breaded. We also do carry gluten free. Crab meat more of a special. We don't do breakfast but if we did sausage gravy would be there. I grew up on that, my mother was a great home cook from Kentucky
