Decent First Venture!

Started off looking grim. Didn’t even mark a single fish for the first 45 minutes. About 2:45 they started showing up but mostly just looking, Just after 3:00, they started to get serious, left as it was getting dark. Bite was still on.  Felt good to get on some fish. These are like 10 - 14”

That’s a nice pile for a meal. I either need to learn to target them or find a lake with a better population. I’ve only ever caught two out through the ice, and both from a lake I fish very often.

Nice catch of crappies, I was just saying I could go for some fresh sweet crappie fillets.  I guess it is time to chase crappies.... fish on.

Next  week or so looks like a good time to hammer them. 7" of ice in Cumberland  ponds that have been closed in 2 weeks
