Thanks guys.

Size is just shy of 8x12.  Trying to keep everything as light as possible.  The base frame is somewhat heavy, but trying to save weight where we can.

We used UHMV channels.  The channels are 10' long and have 2" slots.  We then used some trim material to shim the 2x10's in the channels and screwed them in place.  The channels weren't cheap, but hoping it's worth it.

Updated pics...  Roof took longer than expected, but progress continues.

Still need to button up the roof, and add some more support here and there.

HaHa.  Looks like it might be in the rear/left - looking at the pic?  That would be too funny.  Though easy to remedy with a chainsaw.  :woot:

Haven't quite figured out the door yet and windows yet, but that's this weekends project.  Figured we just cut a stud and frame it in.  I'm no carpenter and this is the first time we've built something like this, so it's a learning process.  Fun project though.

Actually, we're not insulating it.  Using luan for siding and we have a small wood-stove for heat, so it should be nice and toasty.

I'm not sure if you guys use tip ups but when I built my permy I made my windows lower so I didn't have to get up and so that I could see out all 3 windows from my seat in the shanty. My friend built the same size as mine 8x6 but put the windows up to high So u have to stand to look out them. I like the idea of being able to see out all my windows from my seat so I see that flag go up right away. Just a thought

Thanks everyone.  Appreciate the comments.  Getting excited now that we're 'almost done' and winter is just around the corner.

bigzin, we do have one window that's 'seat level' where we plan on putting a table and some chairs.

Hope to finish off the exterior this coming weekend!

More to come....

I recommend making a table on hinges so if your not using it you can flip it down out of the way.  Looks like you have plenty of room but its kinda nice to be able to flip the table down incase ya have a party in there hahaha

This year I want to add a cooking station to mine and some counter space outside on hinges, plus pipe my woodstove through the roof rather than out the side

Great ideas.  Thanks again guys.

Bigzin, just curious, why thru the roof for the stove pipe?  We were thinking out the side, but open to suggestions.

Updated pics:  Finished the siding, put the windows in, put the door on (too late to get pics).

All that's left is the inside and painting, and of course ICE!!!
