Now my unexpected daughter read this and she wants to come and enjoy the day. So I am gonna have to take her for her fishing license since she just turned 16. I was thinking of bringing a plastic sled down so my kids can have some fun pulling other kids around on the ice.
Anybody object to it if they stay away from other fishermans equipment? This does sound like a fishing and family day?
I wont forget our helmets and my four wheeler is insured and registered.

more of a get together we will kepp track of the bigger fish for bragging rights and maybe a few small prizes. I want to fish and not deal with money personally. If someone else wanted to have a derby while we are there I am game I just want to drink and fish and eat and not have to worry about peoples money

I have never been over there to fish and know nothing about the hotels in the area can anybody recommend a reasonable priced 50-60 bucks a night and clean motel thats close the gathering area..Started calling some of the ones on the list and im not spending 120. bucks a night for a single. any info would be appreciated.

I made reservations for Redwood Ranch which is 5 minutes away. They are charging me $60.00 for me and my son. Cheapest one i could find.
Hope it helps. Also they will except credit card to hold room but required personal check or cash when you arrive.

the phone number for the Redwood Ranch is 716-386-4275. Very nice people and very close to Long Point. You could actually walk across the ice to Long Point if ya had to.

UPDATE The guy who was going to be there with the bait forsale backed out on us. He did say that he is opening the shop at 4:30am for the guys that are planing on coming early. I think his wife is in control. LOL. Sorry Brian had to do it. P.S. Found the eyes.

looks like I will have my little man all day my other kids will not be coming

. Oh well they are young and do not enjoy the cold at all. I sure hope the hot chocolate is flowing no beer for this guy, I will be hanging with the 8 yr old. I am gonna be there early . I am gonna try and personalize my shappell 3000DX I have a paint marker and i want to be able to be found . I hope to see a good turn out. Sounds like the perch are becoming a bit more cooperative. I will say the weather looks great for fishing 26-32 degrees snow, clouds and very little wind I hope to see some kids out there.

It's getting closer. Figured out what to bring. I will have a 30gal. trash can tied to the Fish Trap II for all to use. If I can go back out Sunday and not find a mess out on the ice it will be a successful day. IMO

Hey Fishtrap I have some 55 gallon steel lined commmercial trash bags if you want me to bring them. I'll bring a roll of Duck Tape too if you want. I am all in for keeping it clean out there. We use them for construction debris...
