I have read through the posts and other then a few days ago I don't see any post on how the shore ice is on the south shore, are machines still able to get on? Thanks in advance (this time of year shore ice can change day to day)
well we haven't had any thaws , so things are still going along , 20" of ice and shoreline every where is good , just look for gas holes and nasty pressure cracks when crossing a spud wouldn't;t hurt to give a quick check , the other day I walked out the east end crossed the crack came back 2.5 hrs later and it was wet , unable to cross there ,found a small spot and got my shack and Smitty moving and jumped on and slid across and Oldtimer , that was a do as I say not as I do m
got out this morning on the south shore before the big winds started and picked a quick dozen huge sunnies for my next door neighbor.....damn, those things are humongous....only fished for an hour or so....been fishing caz lake the last few days and doing pretty good with the perch and gills/sunfish....winds are cranking right now......when is spring gonna start for crying out loud.....I love ice fishing but enough is enough.....done pouting...sorry
Exactly! Don't cry too much. Next year we will be whining because there is no ice!I think today is probably the coldest day we will see until next December. Yesterday Dave Longley said that this is the coldest March on record so far. The last few days of March will change that though.
LMAO!!!
got served up some humple pie this morning. 1 gill, and 1 crappie. I think there's to much pressure. it looks like bb over there. there's a hole every 10'. it was great while it lasted. Sully...
Sounds like you had a good run Sully......thank you internet.I might go looking for some perch this weekend if this weather doesn't make it too sloppy, might be the last weekend for a machine. Honestly I'm ready to get the boat out.
yes it was but did have to scrape off a few layers of rust
What's funny is I doubt if 90% of those guys at Short Point the past couple weeks can even get on the internet.... Same with Toad harbor a few weeks ago..... There are other forces at play with those groups....
Hence my lack of reports this winter...
Hey Red, Be careful with ignorant posts.........
Too bad most people want to be the next internet hero...And Sully, you are right it was amazing while it lasted...J
O boy.... .... Ok I'll say 50%..... My real point is, that group of guys, and I was there talking to folks for 6 days, certainly weren't here chirping about the spot.... But they were a good group of guys that have lots of friends and the phone was what I saw being used to alert their friends....
shoulda been there yesterday coach!! LOL! Sad thing is...the phone calls I got were about guys pirating fish more than a few times a day........real sad!!!
Did I miss the hot bite? Nobody called me (Image removed from quote.)
