Nice shirt Freak. I would buy one of those.

The 10 day forecast shows a good warm up next week. With no nights below freezing. That is going to make things interesting really fast. That water is going to come up pretty quick.

I am hoping to get out one more time.

Stopped in at Bartel Road Bait & Tackle early Sunday morning on my way to Big Bay.  Rob, it was nice to chat with you there.  Moved around to 4 holes between 7:30-11:30 but no keepers.  Couldn't find the gills & sunnies.  Caught a ton of dink perch and a pickerel snapped my line coming out of the hole and stole my lure....lol.  Left with an empty bucket.  But on the positive side, the sunrise was absolutely beautiful!

The past 3 days have been incredible fishing. I was lucky enough to limit out each day and add 21 pounds of fillets to the freezer.  The wind was brutal today and I got smacked by a run away ice shanty. As I was watching a guy try to catch his bucket that was blowing across the ice in front of me I heard at guy in back of me yelling.  I turned around just in time to see the shanty flying at me as the owner tried to catch it.  Yeah that hurt........bring your creepers the ice is slick
That's a nice pile of Gills! Where are you guys stumbling into them and the Perch? We went to Lake Moraine Sat. and caught a few Gills but not near that many. Congrats! Also I have a question as to how everyone freezes their fillets to keep them from freezer burn?

Hey now, except for a couple spats barely mentioned on the board everyone's been at least somewhat good this year  :angel

I saw over on the Erie board you've got newbies posting fake pics then getting caught doing it while attacking each other.  :roflmao: :roflmao:

Compared to some years cny topics have been rather easy on you.
Heck I don't remember once this yr poking at you & only called RD a friggen hippie once.  ;D

Vacuum sealing works great. It takes up less room.

Vacuum pack them.  Can keep fish a year that's vacuum sealed right.  Takes up less space and when you want to eat them they thaw way faster than when packed in water.

Seeing and reading all these recent catches of flats is killing me. Have Thursday off and I guess I'll be fishing some new water on oneida searching around for them. Hopefully I can run into a few!

Thanks for the info on vacuum packing! Anyone have a specific brand that seems to work well? I had one years ago for doing venison but had issues  getting a good seal.

Sometimes especially when doing fish I'll seal it a few times. Simply let the vac the air out then wait for it to do its first initial seal. Leave the bag right on the exact same spot and then press the seal button again. This helps ensure a good tight seal. Helps a lot when your sealing moist foods.

This a great tip.  While making a bag off the roll I seal it twice, then pack my filets in the bag.  Vacuum seal it then put an extra seal just in case.  I've had them where the first seal doesn't hold and sometimes they smashed around in the freezer.  They will last for quite a while like this and also thaw a lot faster than when frozen in water.
