Another beat down today. Fished 12'-39' out of chapman. One perch between two of us and a couple dinks.  Marked some good fish but as soon as you moved the rod the couldn't of left any faster.  This has been my toughest stretch since using electronics.  That makes at least 6 bad outings in a row.  By bad I mean 4 or less.
We've all been there.  Thanks for the honest post.  The reports on unsuccessful outings are just as valuable as the successful ones (to me at least).

Ice Shanty at work!? :nono: :roflmao:
Hope you have a good day tomorrow.
I seem just about everything today..lookers, sniffers, scared shatless, nibblers, and some biters. Wound up with 5 perch...four 12"" and a 10".  Lost 3. When the hit, seems like they wanted anything. Used rap and shiner head and forage minnow with spikes. Beautiful day out there!

Only 18 today. Marked way too many to catch that number. All nice fish though. Only a few on blades most on the minnow after they stared it to death. 32' mid lake. 6am-1:30. Only one pin today.

Decided to head south for a little sun and warmth today. Frigid 4 degrees when we headed out but warmed up pretty nicely. Fortunately so did the fishing. Had to weed thru lots of pins but there was some big fellows mixed in. Had a limit by 11:00 and some nice perch. Would have liked to fish for more perch and enjoy the beautiful day but my ride had to leave  :(. Still a very nice day to be out on the ice.

Second that motion on the effectiveness of Dark Cloud's super shad darts !!!!

Sounds good Jay. When those perch are real fussy your darts with the right piece of plastic are pretty deadly.  ;)  I managed to loose quite a few of the last ones you gave me but i have a few left that I save for special occasions. Be careful when you put the two young-uns to work; they have child labor laws.

Have a great weekend.

Thanks Kingfisher; I like seeing a mixed bag too. Good luck on Chumont or Seneca.

Fished off north shore this morning bite was slow early but fish turned on around 9 til noon. Kept 17 with about 10 around 11" to 12". #2 rap or dead sticking minnow worked best for me. Had fish on the marcum constantly. Not the greatest but a hell of alot better then the last few weeks. They are turning on and it's only gonna get better. Beautiful day out there

Fishin was good again yesterday just like last weekend, got a dozen eyes, 7 in the keeper range  5 just short some nice smallies and 20 perch, kept 15 jumbos, no finessing, rap with no meat.  The ones that showed up were hot....Great to fish outside the shanty yesterday afternoon. Felt great.

Great day yesterday on the North Shore, first in a while when you saw them they bit, or at least they did in about 6 out of 8 spots 39 jumbos and a bonus 16" eye. 3 lings to boot. Odd for me is usually when the fish have their aggressive moments I can stick the big stuff to them and hit em good with my fav. eyeball rig, not the case yesterday, still had to add a bit of fines to the deal to get em to go. Hmmm, unless you had em on the screen several at a time then they'd hit my eye rig (Thursday same results with how they bit, had 38 fish, no eyes) Grubs/Mousies/baby buckeye head middle size Caty in all glow or pink glow

Purchased the ice-ducer upgrade and soft pack for my HDS-7, was told to bring extra battery, yesterday in 8.5 hours battery stayed strong, I just kept screen brightness at 8 (out of 20) total expenditure $200 which included overnight shipping (: image shows highest fish being caught, second fish coming up to bite but bait was gone by then, lol GOOD STUFF Old school stuff right here, reminds me of my first days on the ice in the 80's with my bottom line

This is driving me nuts. They're racing in on the drop. I look at my rod tip, expecting a bite, look at the screen...they're gone
