Just cleaned 45 good ones, dozen on blade on braid and rest dead sticking minnow splitshot and truturn. 30' deep. Should only get better. No keeper eyes.

Nice Filet and Mcully.  Just read 3 pages and I can't keep track of who did well, but congrats to those that did.  Looks like things are picking up ever so slowly.  Hope to be back out there Sunday, probably hit the soft water Saturday.  Good luck to all that hit the ice this weekend.  Good luck Pooch/Racer on the big 'eyes up north.

Those are some nice numbers. Planning on hitting the south shore tomorrow, hopefully we can ice a few more than our last outing.

Grabbed the honda 4 stroke earlier in yr.  Starts 1st or 2nd pull.  No regrets.  No mixing any oil. No worrying about keeping battery warm.

I have been using the Dewalt 20 volt with the new style lith- ion batteries now for two full seasons , my new strike lite is going to lock solid from lack of use. I use a 6 inch lazer and never ran out of battery power with ice under 15 inches. I can drill 90 holes in 5 " of ice on one battery. I have converted four guys to this set up last year and all very happy.

I was happy with my Ridgid 18V lithiom until recently. The low temps and 12" ice have taken its toll and I can only get maybe 6 holes out of it/battery. I use a 6" lazer and have kept the batteries in an inner pocket. I think I reached its limit. Going back to my gas auger today.

Mine Ridgid goes right throw it, no promblems havent taking the gas auger out since I bought it, I also have the clam plate for mine. Nice thing about ridgid is lifetime warranty so go get it replaced as long as you registered it

How is the cut/power with the 4 stroke??

It seems the same as the jiffys we grew up with.  Wouldnt say its much faster or slower. Check out some youtube video comparisons.

I had a Jiffy 30 for 25 years and bought the Pro 4 this year and it works great.

If your going gas I would recommend propane. much cleaner.

   Cuts great.

Went out of Taft yesterday afternoon. What a day! Beautiful warm sun and light winds. The eyes didn't cooperate. Had some good chasers but they would not commit in the end. I had only one hit and I missed him. We were humbled yesterday for sure. No issue for wheelers out there. only a couple inches of grainy snow in most places. The presssure crack out of Taft isnt too bad. I saw some slush near the spot where we crossed. Just use caution. I think I'm heading north to hunt for the big ones on Saturday. @)

I have been using a 1975 ice king 3hp power auger. Got it from my neighbor. He took it out of the box and it was like brand new! Said he hasn't had to use it on oneida in 35 years! Lol. Does the trick

Love the old Ice King! Sat morning I'm going to fire up my old Jiffy 30. It's the Harley of ice augers. Please don't yell at me guys! I won't crowd anyone and just maybe drive some fish to ya.
