That's what i'm thinking too, next thurs to sunday, as for catching a cold i think your belly hanging out of that dinkfest shirt would be all you need bcons ;D
Heading up next wed. night. Been well for a week now, think the worst is over. Lung infection for the last 2 months has really screwed with my ice fishing. had to fire up the jiffy to punch thru 15 measly inches of ice on Bville. Tried the Nils and could barely stand up after 1 hole.
been doing a dozen eggs a day and beating the snot out of the heavy bag for an hour or so every night. Starting to feel like my old self.
Hey Bcons, we finished 18th with only 9 fish, If we would have known 10 in perch were big fish we would have placed better. And the Ice swimmer did land a steelie thru the ice. Gotta count for something....what I don't know  ;D

Has anyone reported the geo to the wardens or police. Seems like a real hazard in more ways then one.

DEC is aware of it.

first week of retirement hasn't been good to me fishing wise....I think I lost my touch......fished last 2 days with a big goose egg today and a couple keepers yesterday......had a hard time even making the dink perch hit........hope it's a temporary dilemma......gonna hit it with bhammer in the morning....hopefully get it going a bit......did stop and fish for some gills/sunnies on the way in tonight and picked up a dozen and helped a gent fill his bucket.....at least I can still catch those.....drilled at least 24 holes today :o......can you say sore arms....back at it tomorrow

Just ordered my first flasher. Got a Vexilar FL-8se Genz Pack with 19 Degree Ice Flasher - GP0819.  I can hardly wait for it to arrive so I can get out on the ice again with my new toy!   :woot:

I just started getting into the technical part of fishing been using nav app but wondering how the barometer effects the bite? Higher or lower better? What's a good bite pressure?

My best friend and hunting buddy got a used one from another friend (he upgraded) and we've been using it this past 2 months.  And, OMGosh...you're right.  At first I though, gosh, that's a lot of money.  Then, I talked myself into it since my birthday is coming up and the tax refund will be coming.  LOL.

It helps out alot lets you know if you are on a dead hole or if there is tons of fish under lots of times if you can get them to chase it up off the bottom you can get them to smash it wouldn't see that without electronics. And Yank about a month ago there was a page on here all about the barometer. Most guy were looking for right around 30 but if you check back a bunch of pages you will see some very detailed post from the professionals

;D. Love the hat! Lol it sits nicely on top of that large bulbous knot on top of my neck!
(Really do wear it)
Certainly kudos to All seasons sports in pulaski!  For donating to a charity tourney. Like the place & they've certainly taken some of my money over the years.  Except for the weighted egg sucking leech flies I like from whittakers if I'm near 81 all seasons has always got my biz

I've seen quite a few posts on here regarding the Lowrance Elite 4.  Almost all positive.  I was looking at the specs and did not see a flasher mode option.  Can anybody confirm whether or not that unit has a flasher view?  Thanks.

i bought one earlier this year. yes it has a flasher but it is a split screen not a full flasher screen. once you get used to the graph you wont bother with the flasher. i like it so far ;)

I have a new Elite 4X Ice.  It has a "split flasher" mode.  Puts up a graph and a flasher.  Don't see a way to do flasher only.
Taking it along to Chaumont with me Thursday.

It does but it's not very good from my experience, the graph is the best part of the elite 4.  That and the GPS.
This sport takes a certain amount of character in a man that we all should respect and take pride in.
