Nice catch Perry and the Gang...

The pic is a nice shot, love that camera, has the 10 second timer so I can take pics by myself. I saw the sun and fog and quickly made the shot!!!!

Had a great day on Oneida yesterday. Initially we weren't going to go because of the winds forecast but figured what the heck, if it's that bad we turn around and go home. Got a late start but we were on the ice by 9:00 and began fishing in 36'. Marked a lot of fish up high - 8 to 10 feet off bottom but none would hit. After about 2 or 3 hours of that frustration I decided to make a major move and look for some yellows. First hole was a total bust but the 2nd one turned out to be very productive. Steady pick for a while and luckily I decided to stay when my buddy wanted to leave. Had two other friends coming out at around 4:00 and just about that time things got pretty crazy. Constant action from 4:00 to 5:15.  ;)  The three of us did very well and I brought home 38 yellows.  ;D Easily makes up for some of the more frustrating days I've had this year. Good luck to everyone who is out there today.

Most guys are gone, about 1/2 were gone by noon.  A few are trickling out for afternoon bite. Been painfully slow for 2+ hours.

thanks for the advice buckethead....decided the best cure was 800 mg motrin and a heating pad......started feeling better around 9 am or so and decided I would feel better on the ice than pouting at home....wife agreed ;D.....started fishing around 10 and dropped on top of 3 jumbos.....then the eyes started and had one of those crazy days where I couldn't keep an eye hooked for the life of me......must have hooked and dropped a dozen fish in a row :'(....then started to lose perch too.....couldn't figure out what the heck was wrong until I put my glasses on.....both the front and back hooks on the rap were broke at the barb ???.....changed up and grabbed my eyes and headed home......snuggling with the heating pad as we speak ;D

And people want to cut the front hook of their raps??? :cookoo:

I will say that with this much ice my rap is getting stuck on the ice a lot more often. Time to start spudding out the bottom of the holes.

crazy how many fish I've got lately with the front hook......using a #2 rap with those small hooks don't help.....trying to target perch....gotta set up my moussie rod and see if I can get more perch....I think there are alot of perch mixed with the eyes where I am fishing.....darn eyes attack before the perch do....I hate that when that happens ;D.....also caught 2 huge smallies.....first ones I've got this year

Heat makes my back worse. Try icing it, you could even bring it with you and ice it while fishing.

I have had some nice runs this year where ever fish had the front hook buried half way down.

Looking to make my 1st trip to oneida in over 30 years. Can't even remember where we fished out of. Would like to hit some perch but would not snub a walleye or 2. Any willing to head me in the right direction such as parking and access to some decent fishing.

Got out this morning by myself, off the ice by 8:30am, fish were hungry. Dumped a big girl at the hole. Wish I could have stayed, but I needed to get some stuff done. Have a sink full of eyes to clean. Just put a new front tire on the bike  ;D. Been a great vacation.

Nice  job  on  the  eyes  Pooch and Perry, wish  i was  out  today  had to help out at the sport show. Don't  work  to hard on your first day back Pooch, and keep  those  pics coming.

Marked fish all day but could not find the right combo, sound familiar? Worked hard for the ones we got. Had a blast with the grandson, stopped at mickey d's for a filet o fish.  ???
