Whos out there....Hows the bite out there?  Any fish after 830am, just doing a barometer survey, I was up this morning and ready to go, but looked like a bad barometer would move in after 830 am, just enough time to get a limit of eyes, but a grind lookin for perch. Thanks.
spot on Snag......pounded eyes and perch from 7:30 - 8:30......iced a dozen keepers, dumped a few slobs at the hole and a few shorts.....jumbo perch were mixed in with the eyes but couldn't get to the rap before the eyes.....did end up with 9 jumbos though......anybody who listened to the weather guys and stayed home this morning missed out on a great hour of fishing......when I start my new career its gonna be a weather man ;D....ice was fantastic....12-13" and hard as hell

I've already done 4 Saturdays sun up too sun down for a one- 2 hour hour bite in the wind, figured I'd skip this one, man weather guys blew the snow forecast, none here yet.... now if we really wanted to get detailed about this survey, I bet the guys bite that kept going into the bad barometer, were shallower.  ;D

I was up all night waiting for the snow to start my plowing operation...2pm still not a flake.  Every channel called for snow starting last night and snow all day.  Very happy when they are wrong this way.

be careful with the good threw 30.90, won't catch me on my boat or ice above 30.60 unless I'm just killing time. stables(unchanging) my favorite, its says poor for that, its a good rounding off of things, but not perfect.

What's barometer look like tomorrow Snag?
on the gfs it says around 1006 millibars or 29.70, that's a descent barometer, not perfect, but should be a great morning bite, with reasonable, (not crazy) action all day, pretty stable, non rising or falling with another clipper coming.

Fishing is not crazy but steady. Have a couple youngsters with me today. Got out here at noon. 1 shy of our limit at this point. 1 short and dumped a couple more as well

Fished out of Lewis this am. Went out to Messenger then back to Lewis. Marked some but could not get any to commit.
Still learning the navionics. I think I am really going to like it.

Hit the North Shore with my boy, his friend, Racer and HT. 4 out of the 5 of us got our limit. The bite was hot this morning tapering off just like Snagger said. The rest of the day, we marked a ton of fish but could not get them to commit. We pulled one up every now and then. They were tight lipped and skittish. Glad I did not listen to the weather forecast, as it was a nice day.

Racers hands did not seem to work this afternoon after breaking down, before heading in. It took several shots to get a good pic of the three of us. Just look at my face and Racers actions  ;D ;D ;D ;D

We fished Messenger today and it was dead!  Didn't mark any so we picked up and moved to Lewis.  A lot of lookers, but no takers.  Guess we sould've fished the north shore like we talked about!  Oh well, you can't win them all!!

Fished the north shore with Greenhead in 25'.  First spot we checked was void of fish so we quickly moved.  First drop on our 2nd spot and I caught a nice 'eye on a naked rap and then 2 quick perch while my buddy was still fumbling with minnows.  Finally got settled and baited up and we picked away at them until 3pm.  Wasn't great, but it was entertaining enough to keep us from moving again.  If the wind was a little less (although it certainly wasn't terrible like predicted), we probably would have made another move or two.  Managed 11 eyes between us, only one of which was barely short.  We each caught what was probably a 5 pounder, both of were released.  Perch were running small and probably kept 15 good ones and another 15 that in hindsight I wish we let go.  All told, we probably got about 40 perch.  Fish came and went all day, but when they showed they were fairly aggressive.  Almost everything was on raps.  Will post pics later.

Nice job Pooch and Racer.  You guys had a pretty good week!  Here's some pics from today.

The one on the left went back.  Was a pretty solid fish.  I would guess around 5 lbs.

This was its twin sister.  About the same size.

7" hole so I would estimate 24-25" long???

Back she goes.

Must had been fishing deep huh...HT.? Well at least you caught some. My day was good early similar to everyone else. My only problem was I keep dumped about 4 eyes and broke to 2 tips on my rods. I was due for a bad day...oh well Did manage 2 keeper eyes on the ice with 2 Jumbo's...humbled by the Big O once more
When I go fishing I like to know that there's nobody within five miles of me.

Any lakes nearby Oneida worth fishing?  Easy public access, etc...?  Just not in the mood for hauling an Otter 2 a mile+ on foot over snow tomorrow.  Got a smitty sled in the works - but won't be ready til next week.  Figure a change of scenery once in a while can't hurt.
