as you guys know. There is a sportsman show at the Oncenter this weekend. This is a new show and we are sponsoring a small Ice expo Expo with in the show. Our hope is that we can build on this to become a much bigger ice Expo in the future. What I would ask of you all is to come down and check the show out please don't be disappointed it will be a good show overall. Both exhibit halls are full the promoter wants to put together old school show with less Outfitters and more selling retailers I'm looking very forward to this because I like his vision. But it will take the support of all of you to help us build a future we will be there clam will be there and a few others to begin with I have some great deals on some jigs some rods and some other items and we have a fairly large showing. This promoter went so far as to purchase the parking at the Oncenter so the parking for you will be free I realize is going to be good fishing Saturday but I hope that you all come on down and check us out. Again he's building it as an ice Expo by next year we already have plans for building to a much bigger ice fishing display. There will be demonstrations and seminars this year Scott Brower will be there with Maki plastics as well Brian Hammond. And for those of you the want to learn about how to fillet a pickeral lol that will be there also.  show hours or Friday 12 p.m. To 8 p.m. Saturday 10 a.m.till 7 p.m. And Sunday 11 a.m. Till 6 p.m.. I truly hope you come on down and see us. Stop by our booth and tell me your ice shanty name and I will enter you into
drawing for a frabill 261 straight line reel.

The New York State Sportsman's Expo is at the State Fairgrounds as far as I have seen. This is the first time hearing of anything at the OnCenter. Is this a separate show at the OnCenter?

Rob, do you know if any reps from wilcraft will be there? Im dieing to check one out in person.. ;D thanks
I believe the shows website has a list of vendors who'll be in attendance .
Most likely, Wilcraft won't be one of them.   They only build 25 to 30 units per year so their main focus is in the upper midwest ice belt.
There may be a few people there who are affiliated with Wilcraft via the pro staff route but I doubt that the company reps will be there.

It's at the on center there is one later in the month at fair grounds also
It's not that fishing is so important, it's just that so many things in life are so much less important

We have been doing ok at Williams Park on Lake Shore Rd. Pretty easy access. 16 to 18 ft of water.
Bait it. Jig it. Hook it.

I would suggest using a variety until you key in on what size they want for that particular day.

Seen some pictures of sandy pond yesterday, big ice jam on the sand bar has it backed up bad, 5-6 feet of water on the ice, cottages are flooding.  Well headed down soon, mustang jacket is back out.  I'm on foot again.
yup one of those houses would be me south pond is pretty bad yet there is still idiots trying to get on the ice, even after the town fire department and media said hey stay off the ice ya fools

Fished out of the North shore today. Very slow other than one pretty good flurry that lasted 10 minutes or so. Then far and few between. Covered a bunch of ground searching but never could get them going.  Most everything I marked (not many) was fussy. Got enough for a meal.  Ice seemed to be 8-10 inches everywhere I drilled. There were guys with machines out but I walked today.  Found a few spots with bad ice where the runoff really opened old holes up. Keep an eye out.

Fished northwest end today. 36 fow. Ice was good the whole way out. Saw one large gas hole big enough to swallow up a man. Had steady fish on the screen till 10 o'clock. 7 shorts and 4 nice perch. Missed a bunch of fish too. Always great to be on Oneida.
