 perch are the best, I love them give most of my eyes away.

Snag, I am with you. I have experienced a couple of those walleye frenzies and they are a blast, but I will pick perch over walleye any day.  However,  I would much rather clean a limit of eyes over a limit of perch!

Anybody fished Fisher Bay?  I have access via a camp up there.  Just wondering if it is worth the trip or if I would be better off somewhere else on the lake.

  Hey percheyes, good link, never knew the eye thing for browns, thanks...  make it easier to explain to guys in fillet station...but like I said I grew around them, never had a problem...sort of like you sunfish guys know all those weird varieties.

Very Nice Smallie.....I love catching them through the ice. They are such a beautiful fish, would love to put one on the wall that size, too bad you can't keep-em.

You guys hear about the dirt bags that were poaching this past wknd?   One younger idiot  took 48 eyes off the ice on Saturday, he was fishing the north bay area, a couple witnesses said he was not caught in the act....  Then another scum bag was nailed by the DEC in Const. with twenty some eyes in his possession. WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE?!?  What REALLY urks me is these people who do this are those who fish almost every day!!  Do they REALLY need these fish that bad? I don't think so!

Was out sat and sunday.  3 of us got our limit both days on eyes and caught about 20 shorts.  Also got onhe white perch got like 100 of them.  Oneida rules cant wait to get back up next weekend...jig jig jig

unfortunately there is more of that going on than we know of. All we can do is be responsible sportsmen, teach our kids the same and hope that kind of behavior peters out

Wind seems to have laid down a bit from this morning but still gusting pretty good here near the south shore. Tends to be a little stronger near the edges of the snow bands.

This looks like it could be an Atlantic salmon to me? They are stocked in Fish Creek.

Notice the short mouth, long  skinny caudal peduncle, slightly forked tail, less spots below lateral line, no spots on adipose fin , spots look like X's, etc etc.

The only SURE WAY I know to tell the difference between Browns and Atlantics is.... Vomerine teeth.

Browns have two very distinct and sharp rows of them on the roof of their mouth, where Atlantics have one, hardly noticeable row on theirs.   

Either way, it's nice to catch them while ice fishing, too bad you have to let them go because the season is closed.
