Just spent the last 45 minutes catching up on all the reports I missed. I've been doing more ice-talk on facebook these days than here, for some reason.
As Snagger said...Oneida Lake is simply on fire right now. I'm sure the steady drop of the barometer over the weekend had a lot to do with the hot bite, but over-all, the walleye action has been better than average this year... at least for me.
My girlfriend and I were also in on the walleye bonanza, catching 14 keepers, 2 shorts in just 2 hours on Saturday afternoon, and lost count of the walleye numbers yesterday...well over 25, which is good for us, since we usually chase perch, and she has never tied on a jigging rap before.
We tried to get away from the eyes and find some perch in a few of our "perch flats" only to find more walleyes that wanted to come in and push the perch out. We did manage to put 16 in the bucket...not all of them jumbos, but I like the 9's and 10's for eating anyways.
Most of our fish came on #3 firetiger jigging raps with a minnow head. We fished in 18 to 29 fow, both on structure and in the flat muddy bottoms.

Wiredstone...sorry to hear about your boy. Fishing is the best therapy that I can think of. Hope he feels better soon. Scary stuff.

Great reports everyone...
Always remember .... they have a brain the size of a pea! How hard can it be? ???

Wow, sounds like a lot of guys slayed em this weekend, I never made it up  :'(
Opted to do some rabbit hunting instead, yesterday we ended the day with 15, I guess
not all was lost.  :-\ Not nearly as good eating as the eyes though.

Long time lurker, first time poster.  Great community we have here on the diehards thread!  Figured it was about time I attempted to contribute to this great page.  Fished  Constantia from noon til dark, a couple pig walleyes and a handful of perch.  Felt good to be out on the main lake instead of the carnival on Big Bay.  2 Keeper eyes, and a short.. a few perch
Anyways, always looking to meet new faces on the ice, hoping to run into a few of the great sportsmen we have on the boards and as always, TIGHT LINES

"Fun Day.  Back next weekend.  3 more years and I can go every day!!!!!!!!!! "

Interesting how things work out. I posted about "3 years till retirement" just a day ago.  Walked into work today and my entire department was eliminated.  Bam on the spot / out the door.  I'm lucky that after a few prior scares, I've had a chance to prepare at least a little and we'll be fine.  For now, I'll gather my thoughts within the peace of my shanty.  No more waiting till Saturday.

Plan well people,  you never know when it's going to be your turn.  (unless you work for yourself which is a great idea these days!)

Tight lines,  See you all out there as soon as the slush freezes over.

Not a go pro fan myself, don't like the fish eye lense, its rounded, but it does grab a bigger picture, this is just a cheap Samsung.

Hey guys!  My brother and a couple buddies are heading to Oneida for our "second annual Oneida Lake ice fishing trip".  We came up last January and pretty much got skunked, but we had such a great time that we are returning.  We will be coming January 24th-26th for the weekend.  By the looks of it, right now is the time to be there, but unfortunately work and wives are keeping me from that now!  Ice is sketchy here in Chautauqua County so I haven't been out anywhere yet.  If anyone is willing to give me any extra info on Oneida we would appreciate it! If not, that's okay we will have fun anyway!

PS, even though we are out of towners, we pulled a lot of garbage off that lake last year, I was surprised to see so much junk left on the ice!
-Chris
