Strike master Ice Auger repairs in Central Montana
« on: Mar 04, 2020, 09:05 AM »
Where’s the best place to get a Strikemaster Ice Auger repaired in central Montana,  My local engine repair shops in White Sulphur Springs.  Has looked at it and doesn’t quite get it fixed.

There used to be a small engine place in Helena out on the far end of Euclid Ave that sold lawn mowers that might be worth checking into.

You can also learn to repair and maintain them yourself. It really isn't that difficult. They are pretty simple 2 cycle engines. I don't know the model or engine on your auger, but you can still get Tecumseh parts from Jack's Small Engines, Ereplacement Parts or maybe even Amazon. You can get drill units and handles from D-Rock, and also h2outfitters. I don't know about Solo, as far as parts availability goes.

Its a Strike Master Lazer Mag with a Techumish TC II Motor. I've had it for a lot of years. Have put a carb kit in it several years back. It has started hard from day one. Just trying to find a shop to see if there any more life in it. and if so work in over.
Thanks for everyone's response.

SeaFoam may do the trick ..carried by most Walmarts

Fill auger tank 1/4 w/proper oil/gas mix to that add Seafoam shot glass/2oz or more ...mix ....run auger till warmed up...then kill motor via the choke .....let sit half hour repeat ...let sit over night ...should fix some of the woes .

Also there is a 90 deg plastic nipple from gas tank hose to the carb ..notorious for leaking/seeping air/fuel .

Sometimes the plug is the culprit ..gap .30

You still haven't told us specifically what the problem is. If the 90° plastic elbow is the problem, you can buy a replacement carb from Jack's Small Engines with a brass elbow, which is much better and will not crack. The replacement carbs are Zama and well-made. You can also check the compression or see if the muffler is clogged.
