Auger Battery
« on: Jan 05, 2011, 05:39 PM »
Hey guys maybe someone can help me with this. I have the Strikemaster Electric Auger. The battery is shot and I was wondering if anyone knows a good replacement? Strikemaster has a replacement on their website, but the price is jacked up! Gander Mountain has one a lot cheaper that I was thinking of getting. It's a 12 volt 9amp about 6" long x 2 1/2 wide x 3 3/4 high. Any thoughts or ideas?

hahaha What an excellent idea! The two big lakes on picatinny are actually closed due to them lower the water level, and they are worried about UXO's, however I am working on finding out who to talk to bug them to open it. If I manage some luck maybe I can get you on at some point since you asked so nicely lol

..Just got a Strikemaster electric and the battery it came with didnt make it through 8 holes..charged it for while and again..same thing...i was PISSED. My wife ordered a new/replacement/extra battery without me knowing and used that and it worked great, drilled 20 holes Sunday and it was just as strong as the first one.. Now im just going to send the one that originally came in auger back to strikemaster for another new one.

njangler, thanks I will have to check that out! King-That stinks about yours. Mine worked fantastic, but the lifetime on those batteries is 3-5 years so it's about time for a new one for me.

AJ I told you you need to get the same size battery & same size AMP to or it will not work. Fish307 has them did you check his site? You can not go lower in AMP's higher yes lower NO!!!!!!

You can go lower .. just expect less user time (or holes). If you currently have a 12v 9Ah and you go to a 12v 7 Ah battery you are going to get roughly 20 % less usage.
AJ .. I PM'd you on this already. (?)

Hi make sure you use a 12volt 9ah battery, and be careful where you buy it, I bought 3 last year from Cabelas and none held a charge or never where rated a 12 volts. I have had good luck with powercellbattery.com Zeus. Cabelas is cheaper but you get what you pay for. good luck.
