Title: Bandwith
Post by: Knife2sharp on Dec 30, 2003, 09:18 AM
It's been a couple years since I was last on this site and it's changed a lot.  I was wondering if it's always this slow?  I'm on a high speed connection and everything takes about 20-30 seconds to load.

I take that back, it's more like 30-60 seconds.

You might want to look at your setup.  I am running a full T1 and a standard configuration and it only takes a few seconds.  This time of year the ISPs are hit hard (kids out of school) and if they oversold bandwidth the extra use can slow things down.  What are you calling high speed?  I have not had any problems and they seem to really keep things running smooth on their end.  Remember "speed kills".

I'm on a T1 as well and I frequent other hunting forums and this is the only site I've come across that's slow.  This is my first day here so I'll see if it's continuous.

We have cable-internet, & this site loads in less than 2sec, consistently.

I run to the net on a OC-3 and back up dual T-3's and the site was slow for me yesterday, but I see no problems today.

Knife2sharp - You might want to consider a cable modem. This site loads in less than 2 seconds. Even @ a relatives home (land line) loads pretty quick. If it's "Been years" since you last visited the site and you're using the same computer then it's time to upgrade.

Actually it's a new PC and it's also a work PC.  Shhh(don't tell my boss).  It could definately be something on our squid server or firewall, but like I said, no other sites have given me problems.

That's strange......give it a week then see what happens. This is a busy time of year online. Glad to see you came back to the site!
