Ice is almost here!! I was thinking about fishing lake Tarelton in Canaan this year.  Does anyone know if this is a 2 trap or 6 trap lake?  Anyone had any results here?

I have fished it in the open water and smoked the bows!  I know there are LT in it but I can't remember what the regs are.

Its a six trap lake, takes a while to freeze up due to the prevailing north wind coming down the lake. Fished it years ago thru the ice and caught small lakers. Long hike for me so I haven't been back in a while. I fished it and the Baker river many many years ago in open water. Nice area.

Traps? Who needs traps? I have a jig rod and a Vexilar!

Over the last year or two I have seen three or four nice lakers taken out of there in the winter, good rainbow fishing in the spring too.

Hey thanks for the info.  I plan of fishing smaller ponds for perch, bass and pickerel early as I like to have plenty of ice before venturing out on the bigger lakes.  Tarelton might be a good spot for a mid winter Jaunt.
