First time board member

Well started things off Friday morning to get bait and check ice and try and get ahead of the crowd. Got to the bait store around 6:45 and then hit the lake. The plan was to camp out from Friday-Sunday. Friday was very warm but luckily enough I found some snow to set up camp (or so I thought). I set up camp with my brother and we went off to do some scouting (he just bought livescope and it was a blast to use to find fish).















We found some fish around 3:30 and decided to head back to camp. Well, my camp was under 2-3 inches of water and there was no snow on the lake to be found. We had to break down all the gear, pack it up and decided to head off the lake. Luckily a friend of ours let us dry in their condo in Laconia! Saturday we caught some crappie and struck out on bows. Tried a different area for bows in the afternoon with no luck. Sunday was the day! Set up near first light. 10 min later the jaw jacker goes off and it’s a 3.75lb Bow! First time ever making the board and was lucky enough to hold #1. The adventure, grind and company is what always makes it fun. But id be lying if I said making the board wasn’t pretty damn cool too!

Very nice bow and congrats on making the board. I had a hard time with bows this weekend . Caught a few small ones and cut off about 4 salmon  🙄

Funny enough I usually catch mostly salmon there. And we didn’t get any! Not one! We caught the big bow and then about 5 min later caught a 14” and that was it. Moved to white perch by about 10:30 but nothing

Great looking fish ..strictly business ended up 5th in the crappie division Saturday and we even won a hourly drawing..the wind on Saturday was persistent to say the least ..Sunday was a blur as the head was saturated from bourbon from the day before  ..congrats

I think it really depends on what you’re fishing for. It’s pretty tough to use if you’re searching for bottom huggers. But you learn so much about fish behavior, movement, etc. if you’re a hardcore angler who likes to jig and open water fishes a bunch too, 100% worth it. You’d be amazed how many fish are in an area and how many fish just cruise right through without even looking at your jig.
