Title: Granby
Post by: cheezonthat on Feb 28, 2019, 10:02 PM
Does anyone know if atv's are able to get around on the lake without getting stuck?  Planned on heading up there this weekend.

Some spots are OK, but there is a fair amount of snow on the ice.  Most of the lake has about 6"-8" of snow, then a layer of ~4" of slush.  You're fine if you don't break through, but screwed if you do. The area of the lake immediately outside of Sunset is OK, but I wouldn't venture much further than that on ATV's.

Chain all 4 wheels and don't slow down.

Lately getting on would be no problem, getting off might get tricky.

Sounds like the slush monster is back at Granby in FULL force! I wouldn't be taking any ATV's out there at this point, you are pretty like to get stuck.

Went out with the sleds yesterday. Not wide tracks but they stayed on top. 30" auger just made it thru. 6~8' of water to stand in if you didn't make an "island" when you first got there! Lots of fish. VERY light bite.
