why would you drive into that....? some kind of special

If it wasn't a total loss, it doesn't count for the contest! We almost had an early start. Nice job buddy.
When I'm done drillin' - all that's left is an 8 inch wide, moist, dark hole that smells fishy......

The Darwin Awards are a tongue-in-cheek honor originating in Usenet newsgroup discussions around 1985. They recognize individuals who have supposedly contributed to human evolution by selecting themselves out of the gene pool by dying or becoming sterilized via their own actions. Wikipedia

12-13” ice North of Sarnia beach. Saw a couple of trucks on the ice in the distance. Good day aside from the wind!

I was at Midway yesterday I measured the ice and it was good enough for me to start driving on with the Durango. 15 to 15.5 inches.  i didn't venture too far, fishing in depths of 29 to 32 feet. There were lots of perch mostly small but managed  to catch 6 jumbos and two eater Walleye plus a couple that were very small. After Christmas the ice should be good to go for most of my fishing spots.

I know they’re not crossing at Glen Harbour as of Sunday. Was out just walking on to the point. Couldn’t see any truck tracks going to the barn. Just sleds and ATV’s. Lots of people out though. How much action another story. Mind you we were there just after lunch. Query anyone? Are they driving on at Kinookimaw(???) or driving down from Regina Beach or Pelican Point? No heaves at The Harbour but at Moors. Any at PP?
Take Care, Enjoy and remember to put the big ones back and any you don’t want as they all serve a purpose!

Welcome back hard water fishing buddies.
I’m late getting on this year but taking the shack out this weekend. Anyone having any luck in the Collingwood area?

The fishing was decent before the big snow and cold . I am wondering if Collingwood got the amount of snow we did in Lanigan  and if they did it could be an adventure trying to drive around on the lake.

Hi angler Brian,
I was at Callingwood last weekend just to have a look. There is a ice break from the point going south and then heads west across the lake. There is a path over the break and heading north where people have been driving. There is lots of snow but I had no trouble with the truck. The fresh snow and winds may have altered that since I’ve been there.
Stay safe my friend and leave a couple of fish for me.

My daughter caught this 29” Pike the other day before the snow and winds came. Not much problem getting around in the 4x4 but
I am pretty cautious and didn’t venture too far off. Was a bit north of where you get on and just followed tracks. Don’t know how to read the ice well yet, so better safe than sorry. Yes it went back, of course it went back. I normally catch and release, the odd time I keep  a few perch or a couple eyes

Hi Everyone, have not made it out to Last Mountain for a week or so. Wondering how the driving on the ice was on the weekend. Hope everyone had some luck.

Crusty coming off on Sunday at Grandview, but doable with 4x4.  Watch out for drifts and bring the grain shovel.

Anyone gone on at Arlington Beach? Is there access there this year? If not, where is the closest access near Arlington? TIA

Hi, we were at Collingwood also last Saturday. Made it out ok, not so lucky getting off. Hung up twice on the many snow drifts. Jeep Grand Cherokee. If it wasn’t for the kindness of strangers helping with a tow, I’d have been in real trouble. Went to the community out there with my shack. Hope this warmer weather this week will lower the snow pack. Fishing is slow…for us anyways. I think I will try to get over to Rowan’s instead. Has anybody been out that way recently? Michael

I moved to Moose Jaw from the Lloydminster area this summer for work and will be heading to Last Mountain for the first time this weekend. I was hoping someone could give me some pointers on where to go for walleye and burbot. I've never caught burbot before and would like to reel in one or two or three. Thanks!

Good Morning fellow fisher people. I was curious what it like getting around on the lake? I was on Echo on the weekend and people were good on the trail then got stuck as soon as they were getting off the beaten path.
Thanks
Steve

So much snow this year! We’re at Collingwood and the big drifts are everywhere. Definitely need 4x4 and even then, no guarantees you won’t get stuck. Hope it’s better for the upcoming weekend. Mike
