any one now of what lakes in southern and central maine, that have good spring smelting?

look in your ice fishing law book and find the lakes that carry smeltyou'll get a good idea as to where you can find some spring smelting in there jus be careful some waters are closed to dipping(ossipee lake,colcord pond,sebago)i know those 3 are def closed to dipping

Ive smelted right off rt 1 at the corner of 131 in Thomaston. Theres a little stream that runs under the road, i think it was a big culvert. There is a side road just before the stream. We parked there and walked down over the bank.
