Read on another site where guys use the grubs out of the stalks of Black Eyed Susan flowers...resemble the Golden Rod grub. Many  swear by them and say they are very durable. Thoughts by those who know.

Have not heard that, but I know where some are growing, so I may have to check that out.....

I have used those when I had no other option.  They worked great one time on a fairly nice Thanksgiving afternoon.
